Here we are - 2008!

Starting a new year is super, exciting.

Whether our situation has changed recently or not, the
start
of the year gives us an opportunity to make a fresh
commitment
to being better, healthier, slimmer, smarter, wealthier...
all those "er"s. It is also a time to appreciate what you
already
have... and we hope this January finds you feeling blessed!

And with this newsletter we hope we make some people feel
just that - more blessed-er! :>)

In November, it was announced we would help you honour a
special person that was nominated to be our Very Sweet
Sweet Person of 2007. Well, the nominations are in and in
a few days a special mango gift will be received.

Received by two winners that is!

Yes, we couldn't decide which of these nominations should
be honoured so you'll have to forgive us... we have 2 Very
Sweet Sweet Person awards not one (I think you'll be ok
with that...). Both are nominations by a loving spouse.
We think that is pretty sweet!

In no particular order, here they are!

Very Sweet Sweet Person - Rob Lasher of Wells, New York

Rob was nominated by Cherie, his wife. Cherie writes...

"My "someone special" is my husband Rob. He is the
sweetest person I know. I believe I am qualified to say
this because we have been married for 28 years. Rob is a
wood turner who creates beautiful hardwood lamps. He is
very creative, hardworking and optimistic. He has a great
sense of humor and enjoys making people laugh. He is also
very
self sacrificing and thoughtful of others. He really
enjoys being in the woods, especially during deer season.
He worked several Saturdays at church helping with a
building project instead of going off in the woods as he
wished this Fall."

Cherie didn't mention this but you can see his amazing lamp
work at their Final Turn Studio website

Very Sweet Sweet Person - King Abel of Lucan, Ontario

King, nominated by wife, deserves "a gift of his own" as he
constantly gives of himself says Lois.

"I have 4 awesome caretaking ladies in my home throughout
the week on shifts from 2 to 4 hours at a time. Because of
them I'm still able to live at home with Multiple Sclerosis
(diagnosed 24 years ago, in a wheelchair for the last 9).
However, when they turn out the lights and do return to
their homes everyday, MY SWEET KING, (my husband, Kingsley)
remains here to help keep me safe, fed and warm -
especially appreciated now that winter is settling in in
Southern Ontario!

King has taken on every job our home and life has to offer
- he has even developed a passion for cooking and
gardening. (He prefers to leave laundry, cleaning, dishes
and bedmaking to "the girls") This week King has done daily
exercises(mine!), soaking feet(mine!), driving to
appointments(mine!), shopping(mine!), entertaining 9 guests
'cause I like to have guests in - few friends have
accessible homes - and after all this even picking up
flowers(mine!)."

Congratulations to both Rob and King. Both will receive a
10 pack of delicious 7D Dried Mangoes and an official,
personalized Very Sweet Sweet Person of the Year award
certificate.

Best Wishes to you and your Sweet this year,

Valerie
